MAKING 2011 YOUR BEST YEAR EVER!

Despite daily challenges, 2011 is a new beginning for a renewed optimism and success. However, before moving forward get a notebook or journal. 

Take the opportunity to contemplate the few questions below saying goodbye to the past and hello to a bright new year:

1) What did you accomplish in 2010 that made you feel good about yourself? Did you celebrate it? If not, what will you do?

2) What one behavior are you still doing that is negative? What can you do now to end it?

3) Who has influenced you during this past year - either hurtful or supportive? Thank them for their contribution to you either privately or personally.

Now let's focus on 7 steps to making 2011 your best year ever!!

ENJOY THE SIMPLE THINGS- Take a walk, go to the movies, read a book, watch a favorite TV show, spend time with family & friends, look at the sunrise/sunset. When someone gets on your nerves, imagine what it would be like without them. Make an appointment with yourself for 15-30 minutes a day and write in a gratitude journal at least 5 things you are thankful for each day.

FOLLOW A FORM OF SPIRITUAL PRACTICE/FAITH - Keep praying and connecting with your vision of the higher power regularly by going to church, synagogue, deep breathing, visualization, meditation, journaling, etc. 

LAUGH OFTEN - Studies at Northwestern University and Fordham University concluded that laughter helps your immune system to function better, keeps hormones in balance, increases the body's normal painkillers, relaxes tensions and it's free! DO RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS - Donate time and/or money to others, write someone a love letter, let a person get ahead of you in line or traffic, etc.

KEEP LEARNING - Keep your mind young by taking continuous trainings, classes, etc.

EXERCISE - Studies demonstrate that exercise creates better performance, improved morale and increased energy.
